Duct tape and cans of beer.

Remember in the movie "Drop Dead Gorgeous" when the Ellen Barkin character got set on fire & then had to duct tape her beer to her hand?
Or did she ... I'm sure there was WD-40 in that movie too ... or maybe not ... are there other movies that feature duct tape, beer & WD-40?
If not, why not?

you know, you may be on to something there...I see a movie where everything is made of duct tape, all of the clothing, all objects, everything. we will allow colored duct tape, even though it is totally not really duct tape at all :) and then we will drink beer and spray each other with WD-40 and wrestle. yes, i think this could be a movement friends, not just a cult film, no, a real Alice's Restaurant type movement, with three part harmony, in triplicate, with circles and arrows and a paragraph on each one!

The real hot part would actually be the "making of" special feature on the DVD where you get to see me putting the costumes on the cast.

Only to be outdone by their merciless removal.

I may however leave Regyna taped to the group W bench for an undetermined period of time.

clearly you are unclear in the method of duct tape clothing construction :) first, one meticulously wraps the subject, er, victim, in duct tape with the sticky side out. then one wraps again sticky side in, thereby creating an actual garmet which can be worn more than once (please see my profile for an example, I think it is the first picture I uploaded...I didn't make it, I commissioned it from a duct tape artist) then one cuts said garmet off said victim with surgical scissors, and trims the garmet as needed to create the style in mind. grommets and ribbon can be used to lace the pieces back together, creating a custom outfit molded to the individual. sadly I no longer have the ass that fits mine! but that's another topic entirely...

the sword, I loved that sword. it had incredible detail, and was made out of cardboard and duct tape. he wouldn't part with it, sadly, because I want one so badly!

Sure, let's make a DVD. I'm a Seamstress, I'm sure I could make up some duct-tape garments for us, using the 2-layer method described by Ms. R ... and the wrestling will be fun, too. Just let's be sure to drink the beer & not the WD-40, yes?

good point. nothing dehydrates like drinking WD40 :) moisture? what moisture!

While wd40 penetrates rust and can begin to get parts moving, it is not a LUBRICANT or long term protector of moving parts.

Beer, while a social lubricant that sometimes facilitates PENETRATION, Has little impact ameliorating the deleterious effects of OXIDATION.

Duct tape has failed to demonstrate efficacy in sealing air ducts (whence comes it's appellation).

To my knowledge Mc Giver never drank beer!

              Where does this leave US?

              Oh yeah, making a DVD!

I propose scripting a 7-10 minute trailer, I envision spilt and foaming beer, flaming wd, and a damsel taped to the front of a train.

Does all you all live in the Bay area?

I do not live in the Bay Area. MY DVD vision, the best one, is: damsel asleep, chained to bed. Many empty beer cans all around. Damsel wakes, curses with great enthusiasm the person who chained her there. Then someone comes in with a can of WD-40 & gets her out of the chains, and they drink more beer. Then the person who chained the damsel comes in & they fineigle him into being chained up ... leaving the WD-40 JUST out of reach ...

i live on the northern reaches of what could be called the bay area, but is now lovingly referred to as whine country. ha! but you knew that already, didn't you :) you on the other hand live on the southern reaches of what might be called the bay area, but is more often thought of as south silly valley, or north central valley, or perhaps the lovely uncle somebody's summer camp, or so i've heard.

so then what happens? cuz it sounds like it's just about to get interesting!

Hey, this is a scenario-by-committee, take from here, Regyna!
I live far (well, pretty far) north of all borders of the Bay Area, in Western Oregon, just about half-way in between 2 medium-to-small cities of no importance ... and little interest ...

this is a great style of writing, I propose the entire script is written this way. you can tell what is meant, but it is overly clever and you have to work for it :)

hmmm...by committee you say...lemme think about that....

ok, then there needs to be a song and dance number. the three of them sing about their feeeeeeeeeeliiiiiiiiiiiings as they roll and sway, clanking the chains for emphasis. then the previously in distress damsel notices that one of them, probably the one in chains, nah? one of them starts to get excited. visibly :) the damsel then assumes the lead by instructing the free man on how he should proceed to service her in a fabulous fashion just out of reach of the chained man...who can't reach himself either. ooo, that's mean!

with Cinderella style mice singing the chorus?
Perhaps it may become a tale of redemption for the damsels original captor?
I can see in the second act the "freed" (the damsel and two others?) marching the now chained one through a forest with a 5 gallon soda keg of homebrew duct taped to his back (arms immobilized at his sides with only fingertips to help support his load), resting only long enough for the new captors to refill their mason jars and piss on him.
After many travails and with the stress of a dwindling beer supply a Stockholm syndrome type of situation will begin to arise and some crisis (attack by savages or loggers in need of wd?) will arise (of course one good guy will have to die) leading the original captor(now captive),to join cause with the others in the next quest, the third act, A BEER RUN!

yes, mice, definitely :) and we simply must get the rights to the classic B double E double R UN song...must. simply must have it. and really it should be loggers, yes, but savage loggers. fierce. with an over supply of morning wood, of course. ah, the imagination simply simmers....

Mice? Loggers in search of WD-40 is good. The third act beer run is genius. I'm sure we can all think of beer runs we have made that had many interesting sidetrips, mishaps and serendipitous happenings .....
